Privacy-First Architecture

Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 5, 2026

1. Overview & Core Principles

At ResumeTop, accessible from https://resumetop.in, user privacy is our top priority. We operate under a strict privacy-by-design framework. Unlike traditional resume builders that store your personal information on cloud servers, ResumeTop is engineered to process your resume data locally inside your web browser.

2. Data Collection & Local Storage

When you use ResumeTop to draft or edit a resume, all your text entries—including your full name, email, phone number, work experience, education, and skills—are saved directly to your browser's Local Storage (\`localStorage\`).

Your personal resume data is never transmitted to or stored on remote database servers. You retain complete ownership and control over your data. Clearing your web browser cache or local storage resets your local editor session.

3. Cookies & Browser Storage

ResumeTop uses browser Local Storage exclusively for essential app functions — autosaving your active resume draft and remembering your selected template and accent color. Your resume data itself is never stored on or sent to our servers.

Separately, as described in the Analytics and Third-Party sections below, Google Analytics and Google AdSense may set or read cookies (including advertising cookies) when you visit the site. These cookies are controllable through your browser settings and the opt-out tools linked in those sections.

4. Analytics & Measurement

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) (measurement ID G-C8R7KQZCX4) to understand how visitors use the website — which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and approximate geographic traffic. GA4 is enabled only in the production version of the site, runs entirely in the browser, and does not transmit your resume text or contact details. Google Analytics uses cookies and generates aggregate statistics.

You can opt out of Google Analytics without affecting how the site works by installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (available from Google) or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser settings.

5. User Information & Rights

Because we do not collect or store your personal resume data on centralized servers, we do not monetize, sell, lease, or rent your personal information to third-party advertisers or recruitment brokers.

You hold the absolute right to modify, export, or delete your local resume data at any time directly through the editor interface or by clearing your browser cache.

6. Third-Party Services Currently in Use

To operate the website, ResumeTop relies on a limited set of third-party service providers:

  • Vercel: Global web hosting platform used to serve compiled frontend assets and static application bundles over HTTPS. Vercel may process standard server logs (IP address, request time) for security and availability.
  • Google Fonts: Web font delivery network used to load standard typography styles (Inter, Plus Jakarta Sans, Source Serif 4). Google Fonts requests may be logged by Google.
  • Google Analytics 4: Privacy-focused web analytics used only in the production site to measure aggregate usage. See the Analytics & Measurement section.
  • Google AdSense: An advertising program through which Google may serve ads on this site and may use cookies to deliver and measure ads, including personalized ads, based on sites you have visited. See the Advertising section.

7. Advertising & Cookie Choices

Through Google AdSense, third-party vendors — including Google — may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google may use advertising cookies (such as cookies for ad personalization) to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant ads across the web.

You can control personalized advertising in several ways:

  • Use Google's Ads Settings to opt out of personalized ads across Google services.
  • Visit aboutads.info to opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising.
  • Configure your browser or device to block or delete cookies, or use the browser settings to disable third-party cookies entirely.

Important: Where local law requires consent before analytics or advertising cookies are set (for example, in the European Economic Area and the UK), a cookie-consent mechanism is required. Such a mechanism is currently not yet implemented on this site; we will introduce an explicit consent prompt before activating analytics or advertising cookies for visitors in those regions.

8. Security Standards

All traffic between your web browser and ResumeTop is encrypted using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/SSL). Because your resume data resides within your client device, access is protected by your local system's security controls.

9. Contact Information
